Earlier this week spelled exhaustion for me.
In the span of 8 hours, I could barely stay home for half an hour. And each time when I wanted to catch up on Facebook, I had to scoot off within a few minutes to start my "mom/wife taxi service".
In the span of 8 hours, I could barely stay home for half an hour. And each time when I wanted to catch up on Facebook, I had to scoot off within a few minutes to start my "mom/wife taxi service".
So I decided that on such busy days when I am required to cook, I was gonna make dinner ultra simple. I don't even consider it as cooking! So all you mamas out there who claim you can't cook, surely you would agree to my lazy cooking version!
I happened to pass by Cold Storage and bought 2 pcs of smoked duck breast meat at the deli section. One in original flavor for the kids and the other black peppered one for hubs and I. It costs $3.95 per piece. Got hold of fresh tomatoes to add into my bottled pasta sauce and a packet of spaghetti. And wala! Whipped this up in under 45 minutes.
Care to share what do you cook if you are tired out but still want a meal at home?

ReplyDeleteYou should get a pail ready every Friday morning to catch your drool. :p
DeleteWell, i have so many time of tiredness but still want to have meal at home! So once in a while, after work before head home, I'll hop to sushi bar @ FP Fineest or CS! sashimi for the big boy and maki roll for the girls;)! Doesn't that count? ;p.
ReplyDeleteSometime, i get those marinate meat & butterhead lettuce. cook rice, grill the meat, wash the veges, and wua-la~!
haha! as long as the food is eaten at home is a home meal? :p Eh, I've not tried those marinated meat from CS before. Should do that next time when I am pressed for time. Thanks for sharing that!
DeleteThe smoked duck breast meat are pre packed? Next time if you are in Marks & Spencer grab a few cans of their delicious soup. Its abit pricey but sometimes they will have promo. We love their soup n ditched Campbell out of our "favourite list" unless we ran out of M&S and have to make do wit Campbell.
ReplyDeleteBTW, whats the sauce you use for your pasta?
The duck breast meat is already cooked at the hot deli section at CS. Not pre packed ones though you can get pre packed ones too. Never tried M&S soups before so yeah! Should go look see. Pasta sauce by Prego brand - traditional sauce. :)
DeleteLooks yummy! And the kids loved the duck? Usually those hawker braised duck ones are a bit too dry for kids.
ReplyDeleteYeah the kids love the duck! Because its smoked duck, the meat is probably cured thus tender and has a unique flavor. Should try it some time. :)
DeleteHaha that's the only dinner I know how to cook too lol
ReplyDeleteThis post make me extremely hungry!!! I need to check out cold storage for other meat type similar to this as we don't take duck :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!
